If you ever dreamed of flying, Santander is where this dream can come true. In Santander there are two magical places where you can enjoy this experience and simultaneously appreciate unique landscapes that only Santanderean lands can provide. Places like the Chicamocha Canyon and the famous “Voladero” de las Vueltas in Curití are perfect places to do paragliding.

The Chicamocha Canyon

The Chicamocha is the largest Canyon in Colombia, the second widest Canyon in the world (only after the Grand Canyon) and one of the best ones to practice extreme sports. It is in the Top 77 of the natural wonders of the world and it is in the process to become one of the next World Heritage cultural landscapes.

Paragliding in the Chicamocha Canyon will allow you to see the majesty of the canyon, the Plateau Mesa de los Santos, the municipalities of Cepitá, Aratoca and Jordan, while your hands reach the clouds and your eyes from the sky fall in love with the Santanderean land.

The flight reaches between 1,000 and 2,000 meters above sea level and lasts between 20 and 35 minutes.

You can reach the Canyon by traveling to the Parque Nacional del Chicamocha, 1 hour from San Gil.

The Voladero de las Vueltas

The Voladero de las Vueltas in Curití, located 40 minutes from San Gil, is another point for paragliding in Santander. From there you can feel the adrenaline and the freedom to fly while observing  the beauty of our green fields, and the traditional coffee and tobacco crops worked by Santanderean peasants.

The flight reaches between 1,000 and 2,000 meters above sea level and lasts between 15 and 20 minutes.
